As of 1 September 2019 the new Rules on Product Classification, Packaging and Labelling (Pravilnik o klasifikaciji, pakovanju i obeležavanju proizvoda) CLP/GHS 105/13 and 52/17 shall enter into force.
The change is intended to harmonise the rules with European legislation and comprises several amendments of the Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP).
In other words safety data sheets (SDSs) and labels with some new H and P sentences must be updated by 1 September 2019. These are hazard and precautionary sentences under Section 2 in SDSs.
You can use previous texts for H and P sentences until 1 September 2021. But be careful, because this applies only for products placed on the market in Serbia before 1 September 2019. If you have already printed labels for those products, you can use them worry-free in the mentioned period.
How does this change affect you and your business in Serbia?
You don't have to do anything if you’re our VIP clients having ChemiusExpert service.
We will arrange everything necessary for you WITHOUT any additional costs. You’ll only receive an email letting you know which SDSs this change effects. So, you don’t lose the moment of your time.
Additionally, you’ll have access to both versions of SDSs in transitional period. We will arrange an "archive" and provide double safety data sheets in that period. (You’ll receive additional information on how to access the archives in one of our future e-mails.)
This means that prior to entering changes for products, subject to the change, we will save your existing SDSs. Your Chemius application will then contain safety data sheets with the previous text for H and P sentences and new safety data sheets.
If you are not subscribed to the ChemiusExpert service and you don't want us to do the work, then you have to make sure to do everything necessary until 31 August 2019. This means that you will:
- appropriately adjust your SDSs;
- appropriately adjust labels and harmonise them with modified SDSs;
- put new labels on your products;
- enable access to new SDSs for all parts of the supply chain or your buyers.
As mentioned at the beginning, you can still use previous texts for H and P sentences by 1 September 2021 for products that were placed on the market in Serbia before 1 September 2019.
If you have already printed labels for those products, you can use them worry-free in the mentioned period.
