On 25th August 2023, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1656 amending Regulation (EU) No 649/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the listing of pesticides and industrial chemicals was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This changes the existing list of chemicals for which notification is required in accordance with the PIC regulation (Regulation (EU) No 649/2012 concerning the export and import of hazardous chemicals) upon export and import.
The amended list enters into force on 1st November 2023.
35 new chemicals were added to the existing list, of which 27 are substances used in pesticides and 8 are industrial chemicals. There was also a change to some of the already existing entries on the list.
-If the substances in your products are not listed in the Regulation (EU) 2023/1656, this means that no additional obligations arise from this regulation.
-If the substances in your products are listed in the Regulation (EU) 2023/1656, this means that it is necessary to check what your obligations are. Obligations and restrictions are tied to the field of use of products containing these substances.
