When you're dealing with chemical compliance and EU regulations, the last thing you want is ambiguity about ownership. One of our potential clients asked me a question that deserves a clear answer:
“Once we pay you for UFI/PCN origination, does the information belong to us or you?”
Great question. And one we get more often than you might think.
Here’s the short answer: The data is yours. It’s about your products. We just handle the UFI/PCN process and submit it on your behalf.
Since non-EU companies can’t open an ECHA account directly, we use our own account to submit the notification on your behalf. As a result, the UFI is technically registered under our account—this is purely a formality.
The submission is marked in the PCN portal as a “voluntary”. However, please note that it is not traceable to your company through the portal itself. Despite this, we treat the notification as yours, based on our agreement with you. We do not use it, claim ownership, or share it with anyone else.
It is your submission, and it remains yours. If you ever decide to change representation, we’ll assist in transferring everything smoothly. Simple, transparent, and focused on your business.
