Today, I want to share with you a common yet very important question from one of our customers:
"We have a practical issue that I didn't think about until the situation came up.
Do products that were manufactured before 1 January 2025 and are still placed on the market need UFI code?
Thank you in advance for the prompt response that we need to provide to the customer."
Here’s my response:
If a product was placed on the market before 1 January 2025 (meaning it was already on store shelves) and an UFI code was not required at that time, it can still be sold without UFI.
This is valid as long as:
- The product was registered in line with local regulations before the relevant deadlines.
- There were no changes that would require UFI code and Poison Centre Notification (PCN).
However, if a product is still in stock in the warehouse and has not yet been placed on the market, it must have a UFI code before being sold.
