When a producer provides UFI codes registered under a different name but for the same mixture, you have two main options for registering these mixtures:
- Unified notification with shared UFIs and trade Names
If both you and your production partner are open to sharing all relevant trade names and UFIs, these can be combined into a single Poison Centre Notification (PCN). This unified approach will display all information within the same dossier on the ECHA Submission Portal. For identical mixtures, this is typically the most straightforward and cost-effective solution.
- Separate notifications for confidentiality
If either party wishes to keep certain UFIs or trade names private—perhaps for business confidentiality—a separate PCN will be required. Each unique PCN submission has an associated cost, which includes maintaining the confidentiality of distinct trade names and UFIs.
In summary:
- If all UFIs and trade names can be shared, a single PCN under the producer's dossier is usually best.
- If privacy is a concern, separate PCNs allow you to maintain confidentiality, albeit at an additional cost.
