The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has proposed adding 6 new substances to the candidate list of substances of very high concern (SVHC). These substances would require authorization upon inclusion in the list.
It includes substances mainly used in lubricants, coatings, electronic devices and polymer industries.
If these substances are present in concentrations above 0.1% w/w, additional requirements for suppliers might be triggered. This could include communication down the supply chain or even SCIP notifications for the affected products.
