This is one of the most common questions related to PCN notifications.
Unfortunately, there are currently no publicly available tools or other means to verify the validity of PCN notifications. We have already written about this here.
Access to the database is limited to official authorities and authorized poison centers. We also contacted our Chemicals Office to inquire if they could verify and provide information on the validity of UFI codes, but we received a response that this is not possible.
What now?
Based on our experience, I suggest the following:
Ask your supplier for a PCN report. This report should include a screenshot of the PCN submission showing:
- product name,
- UFI code, and
- recipients (member states).
If your supplier can provide such report, you can be sure that the notification for your country has been made.
